In October of 2016 they placed 4th overall, as a finalist, in the BOA Super Regional, Atlanta GA, followed up by a 5th place showing in 2017 and then 2ND PLACE OVERALL in 2018 at the BOA ORLANDO REGIONAL.

Jazz Bands

Jazz Bands 1 & 2

The Park Vista Jazz Bands are a highly visible and respected element of the Park Vista Band program.  Park Vista is privileged to have two jazz bands, JB1 and JB2.  JB1 is the premier jazz ensemble while JB2 serves as training ground for students wishing to advance into JB1.

All students, regardless of band, will study advanced styles of Jazz, Swing, Rock, Pop, and Latin and will participate in many performances and “gigs” throughout the year.  Members of the Jazz Bands MUST also be members of one of the concert bands, with the exception of guitarists and pianists.

Membership in this Band is based on an audition and Director’s approval. Both jazz bands consistently earn Superior ratings on both the District and State levels.

Color Guard / Winter Guard

The Park Vista Color Guard is comprised of some of the most dedicated and talented students in the Park Vista band program.  These students are members of the Park Vista Performers as dancers, flags, rifles, and sabres.

During the second semester they are involved in one of the two Park Vista Winter Guards.  The Park Vista Colorguard competes within the South Florida Winter Guard Association, FFCC and the Winter Guard International circuits.

Winter / Indoor Percussion

The Park Vista Indoor Percussion ensemble is a competitive marching group featuring a drum line, front ensemble and visual performers. Similar to the fall marching band season, Indoor Percussion develops a thematic show and participates in a wide variety of competitions.

Leadership

Leadership development is an important part of the Park Vista Band Program.

Dedication, integrity, and the ability to inspire others through their actions is the hallmark of a leader.  Our student leaders work to support all band members in their quest for excellence.
